Hello fellow wikians,
Not too long ago, a hate crime occurred in the area in which I live; one intended to be against Muslims. Out of the eight victims, the one with the most severe of injuries goes to my school, and is of the same ethnic group and age as me. In fact, the victim is not even Muslim, and was targeted because the attacker assumed they were a Muslim based on the color of their skin. They are currently fighting for their life with a brain injury.
I have always known that I could very easily be a victim of such an incident, but nothing has hit closer to home than this event.
Even before being promoted to a moderator on this wiki, I have had this community's best interests in mind. And with all the fighting currently going on in this wiki, I just wanted to open your minds to far more, and to tell you all: is this really necessary? There are already so many problems to fix in this world, and this is what we are fighting about? I think it's time to call it quits and bring in the peace. Enough is enough.
