Madison and Lily
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy Lily sat by the river banks, skipping stones, the argument she just had with her aunt playing through her head. I should never have taken you in she'd said. It hurt to think about it.
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy She stood up and brushed herself off, rubbing her side where she got hurt from this girl tripping over her. "Yeah, I'm, fine."
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy She shrugged. "It's okay. I'm fine," she said, doing a little dance to show her that she was.
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy She blushed at the laughter. "So, what's your name?"
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy Her eyes widened in fear. "A-a murderer?" She gathered up her things and turned to leave. "Sorry, my-uh-uncle asked me to-um pick up some groceries."
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy She blushed once again. This girl was weird. "Um, you do look kind of scary."
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy "I don't know...I guess you're not that scary. My name is Lily." She said, not sure is she should have told this "mass muderer" her name.
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy She shrugged. "I dont know. Maybe you can teach me how to skip rocks? I've been trying all day." She gestured toward the pile of rocks near where she had been sitting.
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy She tries to do it, but it doean't work. She tries again and again and again but she can't do it. "I give up!" She yelled, big tears of frustration rolled down her cheeks. "I can't do it!"
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy She sniffed and took the stone from Madison's hand. She threw it onto the water just the way she'd been shown, and surprisingly, it actually skipped. "I did it!" She yelled, running to hug Madison. "I actually did it!"
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy "Yeah, I guess I do." She said thoughtfully.
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy "Wait," she said, startled. "What plan? What are you going to do?"
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy She crossed her arms over her chest, tears stinging her eyes. "Then you shouldn't have made it look thike that," I muttered.
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy She took a deep breath. "Nah, it's okay. I shouldn't have reacted that way. I'm just...I just got into an argument with my aunt, so I might be a little..." she struggled to find the word. "Emotional right now. Sorry."
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy She scooted closer to Madison, needing the comfort now. "What are they like?" she whispered. "Your family?"
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy She scootes closer, leaning her head on Madisons arm, looking up at her. "It'll get better," she said softly. "And if it doesn't, you still have your dad."
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy She didn't really know how to comfort Madison, so all she said was "I'm sure you'll only get closer with him. And if not, you can always talk to me."
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy I smiled back. "Don't you ever wish you could, you know, live wih people who actually care about you? I mean, my aunt and uncle care about me, but they don't get really understand me too much."
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy She shrugged. "Who knows? In the lost cities, anything could happen."
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy "That's all any of us can do." She said, snuggling closer to Madison, stifling a yawn. It was getting pretty late.
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy "I mean, I love my aunt and uncle but I feel like they would be better off without me. Get it?"
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy She sighed. "I just want my life to be the same again." Her voice cracked.
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy She nodded. "Okay." She wanted to say that she'd be here for Madison, but she didn't quite know how to "be there" for someone.
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy "Of course I do! I just don't know how to do it, that's all." She spoke softly, trying to avoid another yawn.
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy That made sense. "Okay," she said. "Then I'll aways be there for you!"
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy She smiled widely. This was one of her favorite things to talk about! "I wanna meet a fairy!"
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy Lily shuddered. She did not like dragons. "I don't know...Dragons are pretty scary..."
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy "I guess so..." she mumbled.
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy "Oooh. What is it?" She asked, excited.
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy "Oooh! Tell me, tell me, tell me!" She sqi=uealed.
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy She laughed and squealed, trying to wiggle her way out of Madison's grasp. She finally escaped, colappsing on the grass in a heap of giggles.
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy She squealed again, trying to run away from Madison's ticklish grasp.
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy "Okay," she said, laying down next to Madison. "So what now?" she yawned.
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy She nodded. "Yeah, it's getting pretty late."
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy She snuggled closer to Madison, trying to get more comfortable on the ground. "Don't worry, I don't think my aunt and uncle think I'm sleeping at home tonight. Usually after an argument I run to my friend Aya's house and fall asleep there. So they don't expect me home tonight."
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy She shrugged. "Eh, don't worry about it. It's not your fault."
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy She nodded silently, unsure of what to say next.
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy "What?" She mumbled sleepily.
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy Her brow crinkled in confusion. "What do you mean?"
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy She jumped up in surpise. "You're living in the wilderness?!" She squealed. "How? Where do you sleep? How do you eat? Isn't it cold? Don't you miss your parents? Can't nimals eat you?"
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy Not knowing how to respond to someone sleeping in the wild, she engulfed Madison in a hug, hoping it would help her feel warmer tonight.
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy She jumped and squealed in excitment. "Oh, he's so cute! Can I hold him? Can I hold him? Pleeeeaaaaase?" She begged.
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy "Hmm, maybe Charlie?" She said while taking the imp and cradling him in her arms. "I've always liked the name Charlie."
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy Lily giggled, holding Charlie high. "I now proclaim you Lord Charlie, Lard of the Imps!"
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy She giggled some more, then hugged Charlie close to her face, making her sneeze. This made her giggle even more.
Lily Donell
✑ The Orphan ☸︎ Tears of Joy "I...don't...know," she said through giggles. "But it sure is fun!"
Lily Donell
