Marella walked down the gravel pathway to Linh's home. I'll tell her today. After taking a breath and collecting herself, she knocked on the door. Linh answered with a smile."Hi, Marella, what are you doing here?" She's the nicest person I've ever met, and I hope that even if this goes wrong, it won't ruin our friendship. "Can we talk?"
Linh closed the door behind her. "Sure, what do you want to talk about?" They walked back down the path together and sat on a bench near a fountain. "Um, Linh, there's something I've been meaning to tell you" Marella managed to get out. "I kind of... Sort of... ReallylikeyouandnotasfriendsandIhopeyoufeelthesameway?" She breathed. Even if she doesn't like me back, I'm glad I got that off my chest. Linh stared at her, looking like a deer caught in headlights. She looked confused, but maybe also relieved and a tiny bit happy?
What just happened? There's no way I heard that right. "What?" She asked. "I like you, Linh." "I'm sorry, I have to go..." She ran back to her house to process what had just happened. I can't believe she likes me back! Although, she probably doesn't think I like her. What should I do? She walked back outside, but Marella had left. Since Marella was gone, she went to go find Tam, the one person who knew about her crush. "Tam, Marella just confessed that she likes me!" I squealed once I had found him. "Well, what did you say? Where is she?" "Oh, I kind of ran inside, and by the time I went back out, she was gone." "Linh!" "I know, I know, I'll go hail her now."
Linh hailed me, so I answered. I knew she was probably going to try to let me down gently, but a girl can have some hope, right? "Marella, I'm sorry I left you like that, I shouldn't have done that, I just-" "I know, I know, you just don't like me like that." I interrupted. "No! I like you too!" She exclaimed. "W-what?" "Here, Tam will verify that I'm telling the truth. Here, Tam." "Why?" "Because I said so." "Ugh, fine." He sighed. "She loves you. She always talks about you and what a funny, smart, beautiful person you are." "TAM! Sorry about my brother." "It's ... Fine. Do you really say those things about me?" "Well, yes, but...Anyways, do you want to go to Atlantis with me on Saturday?" "Yeah!" I exlaimed. "It's a date."
