The gnomes came to the lost cities for protection from the ogres, but soon the ogres let a plague loose . The plague was blackmail so that the gnomes would work for the ogres in Ravagog. Currently, gnomes live with the elves, the elves providing safety for them and the gnomes doing the chores they could to help the elves.
