Diamond Springs Pool & Spa

The spa had been a frequent haunt for Adriana ever since she went through some really rough times. It's been one of the few places where she felt at ease. She was sitting near the edge of the pool after a massage that was much appreciated.
Brynn had never been here before. It was their first time, recommended by a good friend. It was a nice place, pretty humid, warm, comfortable... they truly felt relaxed here. They sat on a lounge chair, enjoying the peaceful environment.

While the serenity was nice, at same time, Adriana hardly wanted to always be in the quiet. So when she notices Brynn, she smiles and says, "Hello there."
At the moment of being called, Brynn instinctively looked over. "Oh! Hello, Adriana!" They walked over. "How are you today?" Today, Foxfire had been exhausting, creating lesson plans and planning out the next few weeks, so Brynn was excited to simply chat with another mentor, not just over school things.

She grins at the sound of food. "Some food would be really nice right about now."
Brynn chuckled. "Great!" They began to walk over and asked, "So, how'd you find this place, anyway? I hadn't really heard of it until recently; although, I'm not too into the 'popular stuff'."

She shrugged. "When I was still married, my husband rarely ever took me places, so I often had the chance to go wherever I wanted. I just happened to come upon the place, and have always come back, because it's somewhere that I could relax."

She sat down opposite Brynn. "Actually... I'm no longer married. My husband and I had a match fail... after I told him I was transgender."
Brynn gasped, "Oh! I-I had no idea... I'm so sorry... my dad threatened to kick me out when he learned... he's much better, now. Looks like we have a few things in common, I guess."

She nods. "Yeah. I sometimes wish I could just get over him... but I just don't know." Pause. "You're not wrong about having something in common though."
"Yeah... sometimes I just wish that everything was back to before. But then I remember how terrible it was. Before. Plain out torture living a such lie." They sighed, staring at the floor.

She places a hand on Brynn's shoulder. "You know, I think it's more important that we're happy about who we are now. We had a rough upbringing... but now we can change that for others like us."
Brynn was truly inspired by Adriana's words. They smiled, saying, "Yeah. Thanks, by the way. This is... important and challenging stuff. It's always easier with others around to help and support."

She smiles in turn. "I know the feeling. If I never had my aunt to support me, I'd have never made it here. And now, I feel confident in myself because I am me now. And that's one of the things that I want to teach to everyone in Foxfire."
Adriana was causing Brynn to feel the best they'd felt in a while... but why though? They didn't quite understand. But here was another friend to be with them. "Foxfire holds so much opportunity. Without my friends from Way Back When, I'd never had felt so awesome being... me. I love teaching... and I love teaching people to be themselves, best of all."

"I still don't understand the elves who think that being who you are isn't normal. Denial of identity is not healthy, and hurts many elves. Though thankfully, it's getting much much much better." She nods in regards to Brynn's first remark. "That is most definitely true, and I believe it will only get better from here." She then smiles as she says, "I could say the same to you. I wish I could get to know every mentor better, but I wouldn't think every mentor is there to do more than just... teach."
"After all that the Lost Cities has suffered, surely change will be easier to accept." Brynn smiled. Again. Wow, this woman really made them smile. "Teaching isn't about teaching... well, it is, but it's more about connecting with your students and guiding them. We're mentors, not drillers. Connection is truly important."

Brynn chuckled, noticing the wide smiles on both of their faces. "Should we keep a list of all we have in common, or would it overflow too quickly? Anyway, my whole 'mission' is to prevent bullying of any kind, even just simply teasing those who are our kind of 'different'."

As Brynn held a conversation with their fellow Foxfire mentor, they noticed something. "It would be really great if this was the mission of everyone." A sharp realization hit them. This feeling... was it flirtiness?

For once, Adrijana had some peace and quiet. Just because she is the youngest councillor of the bunch often meant that there would be far too many eyes and not enough time for her. But sometimes, a little anonymity went a long way. It's why she's just resting on one of the lounge chairs, wearing sunglasses to hide her eyes.
